Another proclamation is the coming of the Holy Spirit to the disciples. The sending of the disciples after Pentecost Day portrays ecclesiastical offices in the church leadership together with its function, such as prophets, apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers. These five ministries are categorized as shepherd or pastor as s/he is called as ordained minister. The ordained minister is elected by the church or synod after receiving holy communion and some requirements. This ordained minister is eligable to all genders, male and female. However, church most of the times is on the side of patriarchal domain, by treating man as more worthy to receive the position of ordained minister, another reason is because man is the first creation than woman, he is more reliable, and he is created by God directly as the glorified image one. This case could be found in Gereja Pentekosta Pusat Surabaya (GPPS) Gatotan in advance, in which patriarchy is given priority, and consequently the role of women in term of ordained minister is difficult to be implemented. Therefore, feminist theology comes to criticize patriarchal domination in the context of ordained ministry in the church, particularly in GPPS Gatotan. This research is using hermenutic to investigate official documents of the church, eventually the church realizes that the role of woman is essential in the church as an ordained minister and it is also one of inclusive messages of the gospel.

Yedida Mauk, Amran Simangunsong, Antonius Missa Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/275 Tue, 14 Jan 2025 07:42:47 +0000 Business Ethics from a Theological Perspective https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/282
This article examines the application of Christian business ethics, focusing on how theological principles guide ethical decision-making in the marketplace. As businesses prioritize profitability, many Christian leaders aim to integrate faith values into their operations to promote fairness, justice, and compassion. The study explores key theological concepts such as honesty, integrity, stewardship, love, and justice, and how these principles can be applied in real-world business practices. The purpose of the article is to offer a practical framework for Christian business leaders to integrate ethical principles into leadership, employee relations, and customer interactions. Through a review of theological teachings and Christian business literature, the article provides actionable insights for translating faith into business decisions. The findings suggest that businesses applying Christian ethics experience improved long-term outcomes, including stronger relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders. By emphasizing values like integrity, fairness, and servant leadership, Christian business leaders foster a culture of trust and accountability. This article contributes to Christian business ethics by offering both theological and practical guidance. It encourages leaders to view their work as a way to serve others and honor God, while promoting social responsibility, ethical behavior, and sustainable practices that positively impact society.
Defllins Ante, Sutrisno Sutrisno Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/282 Wed, 29 Jan 2025 08:19:52 +0000 Kerukunan Beragama di Tengah Perbedaan Agama-Agama dan Moderasi Beragama https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/230
This research is motivated by the erosion of harmony and tolerance between religious communities due to various factors, including disputes and conflicts with religious backgrounds. The dynamics of religious life appear quite harsh, especially radicalism and terrorism in the name of religion. Although the government has issued regulations to realize a harmonious religious life, disputes still occur that cause discomfort and disharmony. This research uses a qualitative method using a literature study approach and document analysis related to government regulations, the concept of religious harmony, and theological views from various religions regarding religious harmony. It was found that the essence of religious harmony is mutual recognition, appreciation, and respect for differences in religious beliefs and practices between religious communities. The purpose of religious harmony is to build peaceful relationships, respect each other, and support the existence of other people who believe in their religious teachings. The concept of Tri Religious Harmony includes internal religious harmony, inter-religious harmony, and harmony between religious communities and the government. Factors causing inter-religious disputes/conflicts are exclusive attitudes, not accepting differences, and intolerance. The government established the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) as an effort to overcome religious disputes/conflicts. Theological views from various religions (Christian/Catholic, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism) support the concept of religious harmony and religious moderation as a way to achieve harmony. The implementation of religious moderation, which is a balanced religious attitude between exclusiveness and inclusiveness, is the key to realizing harmony and tolerance between religious communities in plural and multicultural Indonesia.

Andri Vincent Sinaga, Ronald Engelhard Mussu, Oey Natanael Winanto Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/230 Sun, 18 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Examining the Militancy of the Apostle Paul in Fulfilling God's Calling as a Preacher of the Gospel https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/297
This article explores the Apostle Paul’s commitment to fulfilling God’s calling as a preacher of the gospel. It emphasizes his loyalty to God and examines how his understanding of God’s call shaped his militant approach to evangelism. This study also seeks to understand how Paul’s model of mission work may still be relevant today. The article aims to examine the meaning of God’s call to the Apostle Paul, how he interpreted it, and how this impacted his militancy in preaching the gospel. Additionally, it evaluates whether Paul’s approach to evangelism can be applied in current missionary work. The study uses a descriptive-qualitative research method, with a hermeneutical approach to interpret Paul's experiences and mission as recorded in the New Testament. The study concludes that the Apostle Paul’s commitment and interpretation of God’s call led him to carry out his ministry with exceptional militancy. His personal sacrifices and his ability to face hardships in preaching the gospel exemplify his dedication. Furthermore, Paul’s model of evangelism, based on humility, love, and sacrifice, is still relevant today. This article contributes by offering a deeper understanding of Paul’s evangelistic zeal and providing a model of commitment and perseverance that modern evangelists can adopt. It demonstrates how Paul’s ministry continues to inspire and guide contemporary Christian mission work.
Imron Widjaja Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/297 Sun, 18 May 2025 05:14:04 +0000 Jalur Pembangunan Sosial https://www.jurnal.widyaagape.ac.id/index.php/jrsc/article/view/310
This research aims to provide an in-depth and holistic understanding of the role of the Christian Church in post-conflict social development in Poso, as well as detailing an evaluation of the successes or challenges faced by the Christian church in achieving its social development mission after 25 years after conflict.
